LINDA FITZGERALD B.Sc. (Physio), M.I.S.C.P.
Linda qualified from Trinity College, Dublin in 1987 and has gained extensive experience in major teaching hospitals in Dublin and in Australia. Linda opened Ashbourne Physiotherapy Clinic in 1992 and has worked full-time in private practice since 1996. She has vast experience in treating sports injuries and has worked with the Ladies’ Football Association of Ireland (junior and senior teams) and the Irish Hockey Union, officiating as chartered physiotherapist at 47 international matches. She completed a 15-month post-graduate certificate in women’s health in 2002 and has a special interest in continence (male and female) and pain in pregnancy. Her main speciality is the treatment of foot problems and she has eighteen years experience in orthotic prescription. Linda teaches rehabilitative Pilates (Body Control).
Linda is a member of the Chartered Physiotherapists in Private Practice, has served on its Committee and was its representative on the governing body, the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists (http://www.iscp.ie/) for over 6 years. She has represented Irish private practitioners on the international body, the International Private Practitioners’ Association (IPPA).
Linda plays hockey and golf and enjoys travel, photography, cryptic crosswords and Sudoku.
LEE CHAMBERS B.Sc. (Physio), M.I.S.C.P.
Lee graduated from University College Dublin in 2007 and move to New Zealand shortly afterwards where she worked in a busy private practice in Te Awamutu for nearly 2 years. There she gained invaluable experience in assessing and treating a wide variety of musculoskeletal conditions as well as overseeing work-hardening programmes designed to return clients to work and sport. She trained as a DMA Pilates instructor in 2008 while there and has since gained a second Pilates certification - A.P.P.I.
Lee worked as team physiotherapist for Pirongia Rugby Club's Senior teams for 2 seasons, the Waikato Reps U18s team and the Waikato Senior 7s team. In the 9 months prior to leaving for New Zealand, she worked with St. Vincent's Senior Football team.
She joined Ashbourne Physiotherapy Clinic in 2008 and works full-time at the clinic. She set up our vestibular rehabilitation service for people with vertigo/dizziness. She teaches Pilates (classes and private Pilates) and runs our Healthy Bones/osteoporosis service.
Lee is currently a member of the sports and exercise medicine and manipulative therapy clinical interest groups.
MICHAEL SHERIDAN B.Sc Physiotherapy M.I.S.C.P.
Michael graduated from the European School of Physiotherapy Amsterdam in 2007. Michael started working in private practice in 2007, primarily working with orthopaedics and sports injuries. He also worked with club championship winning Bally Boden St. Enda's GAA senior football team for the 2007-08 team. He has worked in the HSE in Connolly Hospital, the Royal Victoria Eye and Ear Hospital, the Cara Cheshire Home and the Childresn' Sunshine Home gaining experience in vestibular rehabilitation (vertigo), acute neurology, cardio-respiratory physiotherapy and working with adults and children with complex neurological conditions.
Michael has a keen interest in sports physiotherapy, spinal disorders, biomechanics and dry needling (western acupuncture) for the treatment of myofascial and neuromuscular disorders. He is committed to his professional development, evidence-based treatments and best practice to offer his patients the best outcome possible.
Michael is a member of the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists and the Royal Dutch Society of Physiotherapists. He is a keen competitive mountain biker and also enjoys long distance swimming, rock climbing and road cycling.
PATRICIA ERRITY B.A. (HONS) Counselling & Psychotherapy
Patricia qualified from the Dublin Business School in 2010. She is a pre-accredited member of the Irish Associaton for Counselling & Psychotherapy and is governed by their code of ethics. She has over 3 years experience working with clients presenting with a wide range of issues including depression, low self-esteem, bereavement and anxiety. These types of issues can manifest in the body as physical pain.
Her Counselling and Psychotherapy service provides a safe, confidential space where individuals can discuss issues concerning them. She works in a non-directive, non-judgemental way. She will explore the client's concerns and their emotions and feelings arround these concerns. Her work involves identifying new coping strategies with the individual and facilitating development of self-awareness, personal growth and choice. Patricia loves to sing and is a keen golfer.
RUTA STANKUTE - ADMINISTRATOR
Ruta graduated with a Sales Consultant Diploma from Panevezeys Trade and Sales Business College in Lithuania in 2005 and she worked as an accounts/sales assistant while studying. The same year, she moved to Ireland and worked as a hotel receptionist prior to starting in Ashbourne Physiotherapy Clinic in early 2009. Ruta (who also answers to Ruth) is our office administator. Ruta has started an accountancy course and has completed her payroll training since joining us.
Ruta loves her motorbike and rock climbing.
